True - but not without hearing from a larger set of the folks who currently participate.

Those companies pay a fee for each piece of hardware they test - so it appears someone finds value in it.

On that note … was thinking about this on my bike ride, and my guess is that newer cards are not being tested because the IOL does not have hardware that supports PCIe 3 x16.  No sense in trying to test an EDR card without that.

Please know this is not a criticism of the IOL, IWG, or the folks involved in managing and executing the InterOp and Logo testing.
They are doing what the OFA asked them to do long ago.

BTW, the Chair of the IWG and the person who manages the testing is Paul Bowden and he is on this thread.
He may be feeling a little beat up, but I hope not.

Again - this is not a criticism of him, or the IWG, or the IOL.
If anything it is a criticism of myself and the OFA Board for having not clearly understood (in my case) and/or communicated the types of testing going on.

Restructuring the testing is exactly our goal.
