[Ofa_boardplus] [EXTERNAL] Memorandum of Understanding between the OFA and the Gen-Z Consortium

Scott, you're asking an interesting question that I think others should see
the answer to. We're talking here about forming an alliance between two
organizations (SIGs). The foundation of this is a document goes by
different names but they're essentially the same, MoU, Work Register,
whatever. The MoU starts with the definition of technical work that can be
undertaken in a coordinated manner by both orgs, ideally accomplishing good
for the industry neither could do as easily, if at all, alone.

If this area of joint activity can be found, there have to be interested
parties willing to take responsibility for the tasks identified.

If these two things can be accomplished we try to identify marketing
activities and programs that benefit the two orgs generally and the MoU
specifically. The "horse-cart" sequence here is important. The marketing
programs can, of course, take various forms. We can publicize each other's
events, create blogs, plan activities for major industry events and so on.
Joint activities including possibly sharing costs for a booth could be
examples of sharing marketing costs

I hope I've made it clear any possible cost sharing would have to be the
result of significant work to determine it would be justified. That is,
it's far more in the OFA's interests than otherwise.

Again, I appreciate the question and I hope this answer is satisfactory. If
not, let me know and I'll try again

regards, Jim
