[Openib-windows] Installing WSD from a directory without write permissions.

Hi Fab,
It seems that our argument is about the role of a maintainer rather than
on the right to do checkins.
I do agree that Mellanox had to provide MTHCA as a GA on march and it is
taking more time than we though it would. But, we are working on this,
we are trying to solve these problems, and the facts that you see
checkins are because the driver is moving forward.
There is no arguing that once one is looking at the log of WSD in the
last month you didn't do anything in this area. (There were about 5
critical fixes by me). However, this is not the only measurement to
stability. Another measurement that one should look at is tests. Are
they passing or falling!!!
Currently we are limiting our selves to tests involving only two
machines, one process at each machines, only good flow, no more than 5
minutes to a test.
The current status of WSD is:
1) Data corruptions,
2) Tests hanging.
3) Memory leaks.
4) Failures of net-perf.
5) Failures of FTP.
6) And more and more,
All this are critical bugs, that MUST be fixed before release.
AND TESTING DIDN'T REALLY BEGIN YET.
For this reasons, as we are still not that close to a release, there is
no reason to wait with checkins.
The only way I see that we can make a progress here is to choose a
maintainer that will be devoted to this work. If you want to be the
maintainer, that is fine, but get involved. Start running tests and work
on these issues. If you don't have the time to work on this, we should
vote for another maintainer. (believe me, I'll be more than happy not to
work on this issues).
If you wander why we didn't report all this issues to you, here is the
reason:
You are also the maintainer of IPOIB. We have reported a bug when
running g net-perf with small messages a long time ago. We didn't see
you do anything about it. We are still waiting.
And again Fab,
All that was written here was not to pass blames but to emphasize that
there are still a lot to be done. If you want to be the maintainer, and
if you want to start working on these critical bugs this is more than
fine. But if you expect Mellanox to do the work and expect us to wait
for more than two weeks (and you never took the time to answer our
mails) you are wrong.
Thanks
Tzachi
