** Notes **
* Release 2.5.0 update:
- RC2 is delayed due to CI issues and some pending PR resolution
- New date for RC2: 3/12 ~ 3/13
- New date for GA: 3/20
- PRs targeting 2.5.0 should be marked with the "for-2.5.x" label
- PR #11890 "prov/efa: Fix 0 byte send/read/write support": will be done later today
- PR #11858 "log: add log location parameter to allow log redirection to file":
. AWS CI pending for a few days, infrastructure issue, will fix and retrigger
. Feedback solicitated on the "mode" parameter support
* Discussion: use of AI generated code
- Example: PR #11915 "prov/shm: Make signal handler composable with outer handlers"
- Questions:
. what are the guidelines?
. how to document? Should declare that the code is AI generated?
. any licensing / copyright issue?
. any implication on the code review process?
- Reached consensus on:
. AI generated code is allowed, but must be reviewed and submitted by human
. PR created by AI bot is not acceptable
. The submitter takes full responsibility on the licensing and copyright issue, via the "signed-off-by" line
. Can indicate the code is AI generated in the PR or commit message, but it is not mandatory.
. Reviewers should pay attention to issues like excessive comments and coding style
. Will update the CONTRIBUTORS file to include clauses about AI generated code
